The YL-MBS06-X is a Φ48×42mm LED inground light running 3pcs CREE XTE chips at 3W on DC12–24V, delivering 380lm at 2700–6000K with CRI>90 and a 38° beam angle - mounted 0.5m from the trunk, it lights a canopy up to 3m high. Its 304 stainless and 6063 aluminum body is IP67-rated, recesses into a Φ35mm hole, and ships in silver, white or black with a 3-year warranty. Specified for tree and shrub uplighting, pool surrounds and terrace edges, retaining wall and step-tread grazing, garden paths, stepping stones and park greenway walkways.

1. 3pcs CREE XTE Chips - 380lm at 3W

 

Three CREE XTE chips deliver 380lm from 3W, or 127lm/W. Binned LEDs hold color consistency within 3-step MacAdam across a batch, so a 20-light path run shows no visible tint drift between fixtures.

2. CRI>90 Color Rendering

 

CRI above 90RA renders foliage greens and brick reds close to daylight, against the CRI 70–80 typical of low-cost inground lights. In tree uplighting and retaining wall grazing, the difference is visible: R9>50 keeps red-leaf maples and terracotta from reading brown under 2700K.

3. 38° Narrow Beam - 0.5m Offset Lights a 3m Canopy

 

The 38° beam concentrates 380lm into a defined cone instead of spilling it. Mounted 0.5m from the trunk, it produces a 2.1m spot at 3m height at 122 lux; at 1.0m offset it reaches 6m canopies. Most 120° flood inground lights need three fixtures to achieve the same canopy definition.

4. Φ35mm Hole, 48×42mm Body

 

The 48×42mm body needs only 42mm of below-grade depth and a Φ35mm core bore, so it installs into existing paving joints, stepping stones and gravel beds without excavating a 100mm sleeve. One bore size covers the full run - paths, step treads and planting beds all use the same drill bit.

IP67 covers 30 minutes at 1m submersion - irrigation flooding, rain pooling in path depressions and poolside washdown. The 304 stainless face passes 【480h】 neutral salt spray, and the 6063 aluminum body holds LED junction temperature under 85°C in-ground, protecting the L70 @ 50,000h lumen maintenance behind the 3-year warranty.

6. DC12–24V SELV at 3W

 

At 3W each, 18 units run from one 60W driver, and DC12–24V SELV wiring needs no conduit or licensed electrician in most residential work. On 1.0mm² cable at 24V, keep runs under 20m to stay inside the voltage window; halve that at 12V or step up conductor size.

01.  How far from the tree should I install it, and how tall a canopy will it light?

At 0.5m offset the 38° beam lights a 3m canopy with a 2.1m spot at 122 lux - right for Japanese maple, olive and small ornamentals. Move to 1.0m for mature 6m trees, or 0.3m for columnar cypress and hedges. For canopies wider than the spot, use 2–3 fixtures around the trunk rather than moving further out.

02.  Why a 38° beam instead of a wider flood?

A 120° flood spreads 380lm thinly and throws light into the sky and neighboring windows. The 38° cone puts the same lumens where you aim them, so one fixture defines a canopy that would take three floods. For wall grazing and step treads, mount 0.2–0.3m from the face to avoid a visible hot spot.

03.  What does CRI>90 actually change outdoors?

Most inground lights run CRI 70–80, which flattens foliage greens and turns reds muddy. CRI>90 with R9>50 renders red-leaf maples, terracotta and brick close to daylight. On planting-heavy schemes and hotel grounds it is the difference clients notice without knowing why.

04.  How deep do I need to dig, and what hole size?

The body is 48×42mm, so you need 42mm of below-grade depth and a Φ35mm core bore - no 100mm sleeve, no lifting pavers. It retrofits into existing paving joints, stepping stones, gravel beds and step risers, and one drill bit covers the whole run.

05.  Can it be walked on or driven over?

Rated for foot traffic on paths, step treads and terraces. It is not a drive-over driveway fixture.

06.  What does IP67 cover-will it survive standing water?

IP67 means 30 minutes at 1m immersion, which handles irrigation overspray, rain pooling in path depressions and poolside washdown. It is not for permanent submersion below a waterline or in a fountain basin; that needs IP68.
